Cooke offers this program in partnership with one of the largest real estate school providers in the United States, Dearborn Publishing's RECampus Program.  This is the same program offered by many other real estate schools in the state of West Virginia for much more money.

Course Textbooks Included:

These are both excellent texts that follow the course outline.  Modern Real Estate Practice by Fillmore W. Galaty, Wellington J. Allaway and Robert C. Kyle.  Plus West Virginia Real Estate Basics by Edna Boyd McGill.  Students will find these texts a real PLUS while taking this outstanding program and preparing for the Broker State Exam.

We encourage students to e-mail the instructor with questions regarding the On-Line course at Frank Cooke .  With an e-mail to the instructor, the student will have a written document of the response. 

For questions by e-mail, there is a 24 Hour response time Monday through Friday, E-mails over Saturday, Sunday or a legal holiday will be returned the first business day.

Computer Capability:  minimum system requirements

  • Pentium II, 233 MHz
  • Sufficient memory to run your system software and browser
  • Windows 2000, XP, Me, NT, 98, 95 and Vista
  • Supported Browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x, 6.x.
  • AOL, Earthlink & Compuserve dial-up users should minimize their connection window and launch Microsoft Internet Explorer from the Start button in order to use the standard, supported Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.
  • Cookies enabled
  • JavaScript enabled
  • Macintosh users will want to use Internet Explorer for MAC OSX or Apple's Safari browser as their browser in viewing the online course.
  • For video streaming portion of the course the student must be able to view see and hear the instructor presentation.

How does an on-line program work?

  1. This course two programs.  The first portion is composed of 32 unit/Chapters in a web-based RECampus course and the second portion is a Video Streaming Course on the Trust Fund Account which satisfies the new West Virginia Broker requirement. 
  2. The web-base RECampus 32 sessions portion of the course each has four sections: Reading Assignment, Interactive Exercises, Reading Comprehensive Quiz and a Unit Exam.  
  3. Each unit/Chapter has Reading Assignment.  The course is designed with learning objectives so as the student goes through the unit, the student knows what the objectives are.
  4. Every Reading Comprehension Quiz needs to completed as does each Unit Exams. The student needs to obtain 100% on the Reading Comprehensive quizzes and a minimum of 90% on the Unit Exams. This is the most important part of this course, because as the student works through these modules it demonstrates mastery of the course.
  5. A student can move on to the next unit without passing the previous one but they won't be able to access embedded practice course exam is complete and passed. 
  6. The student must complete each module to obtain the approval to take the practice embedded end-of-course exam which is composed of 160 questions and the student needs to score 75% on the exam.
  7. Upon completing the RECampus portion of the course, the student is give an email with their user name and password to complete the new Trust Fund Account portion of the course.
  8. The Trust Fund Account portion has a quiz of 10 multiple choicde questions the student must complete with a score of 80% or more. 
  9. The Cooke staff reviews the RECampus reports and video streaming reports each day to check students progress.  Once a student completes the On-line portion of the course the student needs to e-mail Bridget their name and address so the school can help expedite the final course exam to the student. 
  10. The end-of-course exam is mailed to the student.  The exam is composed of 160 exam questions.  West Virginia requires both subjective (fill in the blank) questions and multiple choice questions.  There are 80 multiple choice questions and 80 fill in the blank questions.
  11. The end-of-course exam will be mailed to the Student along with the,  "Directions for Final Exam" and a "Student Affidavit".
  12. The Student must mail all documents back to the school.  A postage paid envelop is provided.
  13. Upon success completion of the end-of-course exam and the Affidavit properly signed and notarized, a completion certificate will be mailed to the student.  Please allow three business days for this to occur.

Information the students needs to know before taking this course:

  1. Once the student purchases this course, the student CANNOT get a refund.
  2. Once the student purchases the course, the student has ONE year to complete the program.
  3. Students must complete the exam in one session.  Student will not be allowed to complete the final exam in segments. A passing grade of 75% is necessary for passing the course.
  4. If the student fails the On-Line end of course exam, the student can retake the end of course exam right away. The student is able to have access to review the course for a year.  If the student fails the second time the student will need to pay an addition $50 to retake the course exam again.
  5. Once the student successfully completes the exam, the course is good for five years. 
  6. This course is totally web based.  The course is not downloadable.  The student can work through the course at the student's convenience.
  7. This course is NOT designed to be printed for security purposes and copy right regulations. 
  8. At the time of registration for the On-Line Distance Learning Course, the student will receive an e-mail from Dearborn's RECampus, verifying the student's registration. 
  9. Every On-Line student must agree to the "Student Affidavit".
