Course Structure:

Orientation:

The course begins with an orientation which explains the course requirement.  Here is a link to the orientation: PRESENTATION.   Once the student views the orientation the student must successfully complete the short orientation quiz to move to the Session One.

Quizzes, Summary Quiz and Final Exam:

There are 30 sessions which cover the content of this course.   Some sessions have been divided into Part A and Part B and even a Part C on a few sessions.  Each unit presentation has an assessment quiz that the student must pass to move on to the next session. A score of 80% is needed before being able to move on to the next session.  When the student has completed the quiz successfully, the student receives instant feedback showing the number of correct answers and the answers to all the questions and the reason.

When the student passes the quiz, the student has the ability to go to the additional questions that are available in the session to improve their knowledge of the subject matter.

Upon completing the 30 Sessions, there is a Summary Quiz of 50 questions which the student must complete a score of 75%.  Upon successfully completing the summary quiz, the school will e-mail in an attached the 150 question final exam along with the affidavit.

Course Time:

Since this is a 90 hour course, students are required to spend 4,500 minutes in the course (West Virginia calculates 50-minute hours so 90 hrs x 50 minutes = 4,500 minutes).  The goal with course time is to make sure a student is in the course for the time necessary to learn the material.

All time taken in the course counts towards the required time.  Cooke has text links to important web sites and institutions that are relevant to the subject matter of the course.  Plus, Cooke has crossword puzzles provided for each session, to help learn the vocabulary.

Textbook - Modern Real Estate Practice:

All Cooke’s pre-license courses do include the paper textbook.  Cooke feels that having a textbook to refer to is an important part of the learning process.  If students wants to refer to the textbook for additional information, the time spent can be applied towards their course time but only if students are on their personal student’s page and actively engaged with the course while viewing the book.
